  REVIEW:

Déjà vu refers to the phenomenon whereby someone experiences the sensation of reliving a . . . wait!  Didn’t we tell you this already?

Apparently, the magic formula for a great movie is to have it produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, get Denzel Washington and Val Kilmer to star in it and have a great story line!  With all of this, Déjà Vu wastes no time in captivating the audience when right away you know something bad is going to happen…and it does.  A ferry boat in New Orleans is blown up and kills hundreds of people on board.  Denzel Washington plays an ATF agent called in to investigate and find out what happened.  Val Kilmer’s character is part of a secret government project and decides to let Denzel in on the secret.  The government has developed technology that lets them look back into the past 4 ½ days and can watch anyone or anything that they want.  Denzel has to piece together clues to find the bad guys but discovers that they might be able to do more than just look into the past…they may be able to travel back in time.

Déjà Vu is a very fun movie.  It’s got all the typical Jerry Bruckheimer intensity and drama, packaged in a very interesting and creative story.  The movie begins like CSI on steroids, and gets even better as the time warping is introduced.  Val Kilmer is exceptional, as usual, and Denzel Washington . . . there’s just no one as cool as Denzel Washington.  He could make James Bond look like a punk!  We’re not completely convinced that all the time traveling nuisances are entirely sound, but if you avoid the urge to analyze, Déjà Vu is a terrific thriller that most will enjoy again and again (or at least once, anyway).

  MOVIE NIGHT TRAFFIC LIGHT:

On the Movie Night Traffic Light on a scale of GREEN meaning “Go – it’s a must see”, YELLOW meaning “Caution – it’s okay” and RED meaning “No - stop don’t do it."

We rate Déjà Vu GREEN.  Go – this one is a great movie!
